The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires

This film is just ridiculous. Not Story of Ricky, ridiculous, but still for a Hammer horror film it’s out there. All that needs to be said is: Kung fu, vampires and Peter Cushing. If you aren’t interested in that please leave. You are not welcome here.

For some reason Dracula left Transylvania and went to China. Rumor has it he had a thing for Asians with a little boob, which, of course, are rather rare in his homeland. Peter Cushing as Van Helsing is compelled to hunt down the master vampire because that’s what Peter Cushing does. He’s good at it.

Throw in the Shaw Brothers (Enter the Dragon) and the fact that the movie was shot in Hong Kong and you pretty much have the recipe for awesomeness. And this movie delivers plenty of blood, kung fu and sacrifices hot naked chicks.  Also known as awesomesauce.

I don’t have enough time tonight (traveling for work and watching/reviewing on a plane) to really get into this one, but just know that at one point Cushing drops some martial arts skills on the Chinese. Also, Budha has replaced the cross as the thing that Dracula hates – I love changing things to meet other countries belief system. It’s that kind of movie.

Alright, so find this movie and watch it, but make sure to stay away from the American edit. It’s crap.
