Monster Dog | 365 Horror Movie

Monster Dog

Alice Cooper stretches the boundaries of how far an actor is willing to go for a role by playing a rock star. The guy is a true acting marvel. He really nails aloof moron who can’t act, just like you would expect from a rock star.

Alright, the plot centers on Cooper and his friends borrowing the Mystery Van from Scooby and head back to Cooper’s old house to shoot a music video. A pack of wild dogs is slaughtering up the local townsfolk. The rednecks seem to think the dog attacks have something to do with the return of Cooper. Spoiler: It does.

Like Nightbeast from last night, the movie comes across as spectacularly amateurish in almost every conceivable manner. I actually wondered if Cooper was really in the movie because almost all of his dialogue is dubbed – badly. Not to mention lots of random things happen that make no sense. For example, 80% of the movie (roadblocks for dog attacks?)

Anyway Cooper is terrible, but in a fun way. The intro song (and outro) is now one of my favorites of all time. I’ll try to post a link to it below. It’s stupendously bad and awesome at the same time like nothing else that Cooper has ever done. Seriously, the damn song is stuck in my head.

The film is a bit creepy at times, helping the otherwise lame everything achieve some level of horror. The idea of werewolves controlling dogs is nothing new, but is done effectively here.

Moral of the story: It’s all ‘80s and all cheese.

Rating: 5/10

Snore Factor: ZZZ (Would be better drunk)

IMDB: 1984

Identity Crisis Music Video (this is great):
